The Equipment

Meet The Trailer

We run a Big Tex 14TD — a heavy-duty 7×14 telescopic dump trailer with tall 4-foot walls. Big volume, a clean 45° dump, and enough muscle for the toughest loads.

16cu yd
Volume Capacity
~5tons
Max Load · 10,830 lb
7×14ft
Bed Size
4ft
Solid Side Walls

What It Holds

  • About 5–6 full pickup-truck loads of material
  • Fits a standard driveway — needs roughly 18–20 ft of flat space
  • 15,400 lb GVWR on tandem 7,000 lb axles
  • 5-stage telescopic hoist with a 45° dump angle for clean unloading
  • Handles renovation debris, roofing, yard waste, concrete, dirt & bulk material
Heads up: heavier material like concrete, dirt, and roofing reaches the weight limit before it fills the trailer by volume — tell us what you're loading and we'll help you gauge the right amount.
Load Guide

How Much Can I Load?

Your load is capped by weight — about 5 tons (10,830 lb) — not by how full the trailer looks. Dense material hits that limit long before the trailer is full, so use this as a rough guide:

MaterialApprox. weight / cu ydReaches the ~5-ton limit at about
Concrete, brick & block3,000–4,000 lb~3 cu yd (about ¼ full)
Wet dirt / clay~3,000 lb~3½ cu yd
Gravel / crushed stone2,800–3,000 lb~3½–4 cu yd
Sand~2,700 lb~4 cu yd
Dry topsoil2,000–2,200 lb~5 cu yd
Roofing tear-off (shingles)2,400–2,700 lb~4 cu yd
Household junk, wood, furniture, brush300–800 lbLoad it up — you'll rarely hit the weight limit
Rule of thumb: for heavy material — dirt, concrete, gravel, roofing — fill only to about the fender line (the bottom third of the walls). For light debris, load toward the top. Not sure? Tell us what you're hauling and we'll help you plan it. Weights are approximate and vary with moisture and compaction.
Safety & Compliance

Restricted & Prohibited Items

The landfill won't accept certain materials, and some require special permits or handling. To keep everyone safe and avoid fines, please keep the items below out of the trailer unless we've arranged it in advance.

We'll Haul It

  • Construction & demolition debris
  • Wood, lumber & drywall
  • Roofing shingles & tear-off
  • Concrete, brick, block & dirt (within the weight limit)
  • Yard waste, brush & landscaping debris
  • Household junk, furniture & general cleanout
  • Appliances with or without refrigerant — extra fees may apply on multiple units

Not Accepted

  • Paints, stains, solvents, oils & fuels
  • Chemicals, pesticides, herbicides & pool chemicals
  • Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials
  • Batteries (car, marine & lithium)
  • Propane tanks, flammables & explosives
  • Wet paint, liquids & wet concrete
  • Medical, biohazard & contaminated waste
  • Ammunition, fireworks & other hazardous materials

Needs Special Arrangement

A few items can be handled but require an extra fee, permit, or advance notice: refrigerators, freezers & AC units (these contain refrigerant, so they carry a disposal fee and need to be loaded last — extra fees may apply if you're disposing of multiple units), tires, electronics & TVs, and large quantities of concrete or dirt (weight limits apply). Not sure about something? Just ask when you book and we'll let you know before we head out.

Before You Call

Questions, Answered

The things people ask us most. If yours isn't here, call or text (435) 899-9752 — we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.

Booking & Delivery

How much notice do you need?
24 to 48 hours is what we'd prefer — that's what reliably gets you the date and window you want. Book online any time of day and take whatever the calendar is showing; you'll have your date picked in about two minutes. Same-day is often possible too, so if you need it now, book it online or call or text and we'll tell you straight away whether we can make it work.
Do I need to be home for drop-off or pick-up?
No. As long as we've agreed on the spot beforehand and it's clear when we arrive, you don't have to be there for either one. Two things we do need: the spot has to actually be open — no cars, no trailers, nothing parked across it — and you have to be reachable by phone that day in case something on site isn't what we expected. If we show up and can't place the trailer, that counts as a same-day cancellation.
How much room does the trailer need?
Roughly 18–20 feet of flat, reachable space — a standard driveway handles it fine. What matters more than the length is what's underneath: the spot has to carry the weight of a loaded trailer, and you need to tell us about anything buried under it, like sprinklers, a septic system, or utility lines. You choose where it goes and you're responsible for the surface, so if the driveway is new concrete or you're worried about marking, say so when you book and we'll talk about where else it could sit.
Do you come outside Utah County?
Usually, yes. Outside Utah County there's a fuel charge of $2.50 per mile of round-trip driving distance from our shop in Saratoga Springs. We work out the exact figure and tell you before you're invoiced. Pick “Other — outside Utah County” on the booking form and we'll come back to you with the figure.

Loading It

How much actually fits?
The trailer holds 16 cubic yards — about 5 or 6 full pickup loads — but volume is rarely what stops you. Your load is capped by weight, around 5 tons. Light stuff like household junk, brush, furniture and wood, you can fill it to the top and never get close. Heavy stuff like concrete, dirt, gravel or roofing tear-off hits 5 tons at about a third full. The How Much Can I Load? table on the Trailer page gives the numbers material by material.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
We can't tow it. An overweight trailer is dangerous and it's illegal on the road, so if it's over when we arrive, it doesn't go anywhere until enough comes back off — and that part is on you to do, there and then. Take it down to the line and there's no charge for it. Refuse to, and a fee applies and we may have to leave without the load. The easy way never to meet this: for dirt, concrete, gravel or shingles, fill only to about the fender line — the bottom third of the walls. If you're unsure, tell us what you're loading when you book and we'll tell you roughly where to stop.
Does it matter how I stack it?
Yes, more than people expect. Spread the load evenly front to back instead of piling everything over the back axle — an unbalanced trailer tows badly and can be unsafe. Keep everything below the top of the walls, and don't wedge long pieces in at an angle where they'll stick out.
What can't go in it?
No paint, chemicals, oils or fuels; no batteries, propane tanks or anything flammable; no asbestos; no wet paint, liquids or wet concrete; no medical or biohazard waste. A few things we can take but need to know about in advance because they carry a disposal fee — fridges, freezers and AC units, tires, and electronics or TVs. The full list is in Restricted & Prohibited Items, back on the main site. If prohibited material turns up in the load we may have to refuse it, and any landfill fine it causes gets passed on — so if you're unsure about something, ask before you load it, not after.

How Long You Keep It

Is there an hourly or half-day rate?
No — it's a flat day rate whether the trailer sits with you for thirty minutes or all day. That isn't us being awkward about it: the costs on our end are the delivery run, the dump run, the disposal fee and the labor, and those are identical no matter how long it's parked in your driveway. Nothing is saved by finishing early, so there's nothing to discount.
How do extra days work?
Extra days are $100 each. The trailer stays where it is and you keep loading — no dump run happens in between, so there's no fuel, labor or disposal cost on our end, and that's why an extra day is cheaper than the first one. Book it as a Dump Trailer Rental — Multi Day and tell us how many days you need up front, since we can't promise an extension once the trailer is already committed to someone else. If you fill it before you're done, call us — we'll work out what's possible around the schedule rather than promise it in advance.
Can I get an extra day on the morning of pick-up?
Probably not, and it's worth understanding why. We have one trailer. By the time your pick-up day arrives it's almost always promised to somebody else, and if we leave it with you, we're standing them up. Ask and we'll check — occasionally the next day is open — but plan on the answer being no, and book the days you think you'll need up front. An extra day booked in advance is cheap; an extra day nobody planned for usually isn't available at any price.
What if I finish early?
Call or text and we'll come get it sooner if the day allows — it's genuinely helpful to us to know. The rate doesn't change (see the hourly question above), but it frees the trailer up for the next person and saves you having a loaded trailer sitting in your driveway.

Paying For It

Are dump fees really included?
Yes. Landfill and disposal charges are inside the rate you're quoted — there's no weigh-ticket surprise at the end. What we pay to get rid of your load is already accounted for.
How and when do I pay?
We send a secure invoice through Square once your booking is confirmed, and payment in full is due before drop-off. Your date is locked in as soon as it clears. Card details go to Square, never to us — we never see or store a card number.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel or reschedule 24 hours or more before drop-off and it's free — full refund, or move the date at no charge. Inside 24 hours there's a fee of 50% of the rental, and the rest comes back to you. That's not a penalty for its own sake: with one trailer, a same-day cancellation usually means the day can't be refilled. And if the failure is ours — weather, a breakdown, anything on our end — you get a full refund or a free reschedule, your choice.
Is there anything that could add to the bill?
Only a short list, and we tell you as soon as we know: the out-of-county fuel charge, extra days, refrigerant appliances, tires or electronics, and any landfill fee, fine or cleanup cost caused by prohibited material or an overloaded trailer. Damage to the trailer while it's in your care is yours as well — that's in the rental agreement you sign before drop-off. Book in county, keep to the list, stay under the weight limit and look after the trailer, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

The Logistics Ledger

About Us

Built For
Heavy Work

Precision Haul and Dump LLC was founded on a simple idea: hauling and waste removal shouldn't be complicated. Too many people waste weekends making multiple trips to the dump, renting trucks they can't drive, or waiting on unreliable services that never show up on time.

We built this company to be the solution. A single call gets a dump trailer delivered to your door. You load it, we haul it. No middlemen, no runaround, no excuses. Whether it's a homeowner clearing out a garage or a contractor finishing a demo job, we bring the same level of precision and professionalism to every load.

Our fleet is maintained to the highest standards, our team knows the local routes and disposal facilities, and our operation is built to keep your project moving. That's the Precision Haul difference.
